Yesterday (21 March), an explosion in a pesticide plant occurred in the Chenjiagang Industrial Park in the city of Yancheng, in Jiangsu province. The fire killed about 47 and partly burnt about 630 where 32 of them are in serious condition.
16 hospital of the nearby area is working to provide services and treat the injured. The fire service and civilians take the fire under control at about 3 am today. The pesticide plant is owned by the Tianjiayi Chemical Company spread to neighboring factories. It is also informed by the media that children at a kindergarten, near the plant, were also injured in the blast.
The reason for this disastrous fire incident is still unknown and the authority is trying to investigate it. But it is assumed that the products of the company may be responsible for the blast. Because the company produces over 30 chemicals and most of them are highly flammable.
Before that, 165 people were killed in a series of explosions at a chemical warehouse in the northern city of Tianjin in 2015 and in the last November, another blast during the delivery of flammable gas at a chemical manufacturer killed 23 people in China.
