Renowned folk singer of both Bangla songs, Amar Pal passed away at afternoon on Saturday. At the time of his death, he was about 97 years old. He died because of a cerebral attack at SSKM Hospital in Kolkata.
Amar Pal was born in Brahmanbaria on May 19, 1922. He had five sons. His wife Putul Rani Paul passed away a few years ago. He sang many popular Bangla folk songs for different movies and album. A good number of his solo recording has also published in different times. One of his most popular songs in the Satyajit Ray film Hirak Rajar Deshe – “Kotoi Rongo Dekhi Duniyay” which is still very popular.
