A bus and a human hauler collided on Swarupkathi highway, Banaripara Upazila, Barisal in the morning on March 22, 2019. 6 people died Including a female college student, till now and 5 more got injured in the accident.

In accordance with Nazrul Islam, sub-inspector of Barisal Airport Police Station, five of the six deceased were identified. They are Shila Rani Haldar, a first-year student of Mathematics Department of Barisal BM College, Parveen (40), Khokan (40), Manik (45), and Sohel (32), driver of the human hauler. Another person who is not identified yet was about 40.

At about 9.45 am, an oncoming bus of Seba Paribahan hit Mahindra, a three-wheeler. Before getting hit, the Mahindra was heading towards Banaripara from Barisal. After it crashed, 2 people died on spot and nine got injured. 4 of them were in serious condition and all of them died at Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital.

Police reached the spot immediately and recover the bodies to clear the road. They also capsized the bus and three wheelers. But they could not arrest the bus driver as he had managed to flee the scene before police and other people caught him.
