Professor Dr. M. Maniruzzaman, a faculty member of the Department of English at Jahangirnagar University, has been awarded the SAARC Humanity International Award 2022 for his special contribution to the field of education. The award ceremony took place on April 1, 2023 at the Hotel Ornate in Dhaka. The Chairman of the SAARC Cultural Forum, ATM Momtazul Karim, presided over the event. Esteemed guests, including Honorable Justice Mir Hasmat Ali of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Advocate Shamsul Hoque Tuku MP, Justice Mohammad Abu Tarek of the Supreme Court of Bangladesh, former Information Secretary and former Chairman of BTRC Syed Marghub Morshed, and former Vice-Chancellor of South East University, Professor Dr. ANM Meshquat Uddin, adorned the occasion. The event was also attended by an invited audience of distinguished personalities from different walks of life who expressed great reverence and love for the occasion.
After receiving the honor, Professor Dr. Maniruzzaman said, “I am very grateful to them for recognizing me with the SAARC Humanity International Award-2022. As a university teacher, my job is to enhance knowledge and spread it among others. This recognition will undoubtedly encourage and inspire me to do more work.”
