The four times world cup winner Germany failed to qualify to the knockout round in the FIFA World Cup 2018 as they lost their last group stage game against South Korea by 2-0 goals. The game kicked off at 8 pm in Bangladesh time at Kazan Arena in Kazan, Russia.

The two back to back last minutes’ goals by the Koreans sent the Deutschland team to their home. The Tottenhem superstar Son Heung-min chipped the ball into the box; with several deflections the Korean defender Kim Young-gwon put the ball into the net to lead the team on the 90+2’ minutes of the game.

Since the match official set the injury time to 6 minutes, the Germans put forward their attacking pressure in all out position including the goalkeeper Manuer Neuer. On the 6th minute of the injury time, the Korean defender Lee Yong intercepted the ball from Neuer and chipped through it to Son Heung-min. The Korean striker didn’t miss the chance to put the ball into the empty goalpost and sealed their victory.

For the first time since 1938, Germans are eliminated from the first round of the world cup tournament as well as they positioned last in the point table.

In the other match Sweden beat Mexico by 3-0 goals to grab the top position in the point table. Mexico ended up with the runners up position from group-F.
