All the members of Bangladesh Cricket team are safe in New Zealand although some of them were at Al Nur, one of the mosques where shooting incidents took place.

On Friday, at the local time of Jumma prayers, two gunmen entered into two mosques while shooting in New Zealand’s city of Christchurch. Some of the cricketers of Bangladesh Cricket Team including Tamim and Musfiq were going to one of that mosques (Al Nur) to say their prayers. When they were about to entered into the mosque, they saw an injured woman was saying to get out of the mosque. Someone is shooting there. So, they went back to their bus and when the police restricted the road for use, they safely reached to their place by foot.

Being saved from such life threatening incident, they asked people to keep them in their prayers through the social media. Tamim wrote on his wall, “Entire team got saved from active shooters! Frightening experience and please keep us in your prayers.” Mushfiqur wrote, Allah saved us today while shooting in Christchurch Mosque…we were so lucky…thanks to Almighty…We were so close and don’t want to experience these things again…pray for us.”

The local police informed thaf at least 49 people died and many were injured. Sam Clarke, a reporter who spoke with several people inside the Masjid Al Noor mosque said, “A gunman – dressed in black with a helmet carrying a machine gun – came into the back of the mosque and started firing into the people praying there.” The Police Commissioner, Mike Bush confirmed that four suspects were in custody where three of them are men and another one is a woman.
