On the 3rd ODI of Bangladesh Tour of New Zealand 2019, Sabbir Rahman achieved the first century of his career. So, this right-handed batsman inscribed his first century to his parents and thanked them.
Chasing the huge target (333 of 50 overs) against New Zealand, Bangladeshi top order batsmen could play well. Coming at the 6th position, Sabbir Rahman started to change the situation of Bangladesh. Unfortunately, Bangladesh couldn’t reach the target but Sabbir Rahman’s performance was, in a word, awesome.
Sabbir Rahman scored 102 runs off 110 balls having a strike of 92.73. He smashed 12 boundaries (4) and 2 over boundaries (6). After this huge achievement, Sabbir Rahman has dedicated his first century to his father and mother. He also said that at the time of his suspension his parents had been like a shed on him.
When Sabbir Rahman was selected on the squad, the Bangladesh cricket fans were a bit disappointed and raised questions about the incident. On the first ODI Sabbir Rahman couldn’t score big. He ended up with 13 runs of 20 balls. On the 2nd ODI, he had played well. He scored 43 of 65 balls. And with the century on this 3rd ODI, he answered the raised questions of the fans, though his joyous celebration did not fit the series defeat against Blackcaps.
