Again! A trawler carrying about fifty-one people capsized in Buriganga River in Fatullah of Narayanganj after colliding with a sand-laden water vessel on Sunday at 9.30 pm. Almost all of them are workers.

About 41 people were managed to reach to the bank instantly. Till that night, about 10 people of them were lost. But today five more people have rescued alive. 15 of them get injured and the others are safe also. Unfortunately, 5 of them are still missing.

Divers from Fire service and naval police are still now, working hard to find them out. In-charge Inspector of Naval police station in Narayanganj’s Pagla, Md Shamsur Rahman said that the trawler carrying around 51 people, sank in the river after it collided with a sand-carrying water vessel around 9:30 pm. Meanwhile, most of the people managed to swim ashore but five remained missing.

Also, Deputy Assistant Director of Narayanganj Fire Service and Civil Defense, Abdulla Al Arefin said, “the rescue operation is still underway. The initiative is going on to recover the capsized trawler also.”

Before 3 days, on Thursday night, a boat with about 7 people was capsized in Buriganga. 6 of the same family died and one injured greatly.
