A family lost 3 children in Kanai Madari in Chandanish upazila on Sunday, 24 February. They died in a nearby pond by slipping into it and drowned. The area is grieving over the sudden immature death of those children.
The late children were Shifatul Islam Abir (6), son of Helal Uddin, Mohammad Ifti (4), and Mohammad Arial (4), son of Joynal Abedin. It is said that they were missing for a long time. Relatives and neighbors were searching them and they found their sandals beside the pond. So, some of them went off the pond and found their bodies.
The assistant sub-inspector at Chittagong Medical College and Hospital confirmed the incident. SI Alauddin said that the three children slipped into the pond while playing and drowned. Later, they were taken to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where the physicians declared them dead.
