A daylong seminar on Improving Academic and Professional speaking proficiency organized by BUBT Language Lab, a sub-project of Bangladesh University of Business & Technology (BUBT) under Higher Education Quality Enhancement Project HEQEP in association with the World Bank, held at the permanent campus of the university on Sunday, March 18, 2018.

Professor Dr. Arifa Rahman of IML, Dhaka University and Professor M. Moniruzzaman of Dept. of English of Jahangirnagar University were the keynote speakers of the seminar.

The Sub-Project Manager and the Dean of Faculty of Arts & Humanities of BUBT Professor Syed Anwarul Huq announced the commencement of the seminar with a welcoming speech by thanking the guests as well as the participants of the seminar.

The speakers put forth various issues related to the proficiency of English speaking in academic and professional situations. They also discussed some essential criteria for developing the proficiency in English of the teachers in order to ensure a better language teaching environment in the classroom.

The Vice Chancellor of BUBT Professor Md. Abu Saleh was the chief guest of the seminar. Professor Santi Narayan Ghosh as the guest of honor, Treasurer Professor Md. Enayet Hossain Miah and Proctor Mian Lutfar Rahman as the special guests were present at the seminar.

The seminar ended up with a closing speech by The Deputy Sub-Project Manager and the faculty member of dept. of English Md. Shirazur Rahman Setu.
