Global Handwashing Day was observed with great enthusiasm and fervour at Rahmania Elementary School of Paigramkasbah at Fultala in Khulna at 11 AM on Tuesday (15 October). This year the main provable of the day was “Clean hand, saves lives; our hands, our future.

Mr. Kutubuddin Ahmed, the honourable founder and president of the school, Mr. Prafullah Chakraborty, the honourable Headmaster of the school, the honourable SMC members and other wellwishers of the school, Mrs Aruna Roy, the honourable health inspecter of Phultala Upazila Health Complex, Phultala, Khulna and the honourable teachers of the school were present on the occasion. The programme commenced just at 11 am at the school auditorium in the presence of all the students.

At first, Mr. Prafullah Chakraborty, the honourable Headmaster of the school, delivered welcome speech. “I am really proud of the school toaday as it is celebrating this kind of day in the presence of Mr. Kutubuddin Ahmed. Handwashing is very important for all the students. If children don’t wash their hands properly, they will suffer from various kinds of diseases. Rahmania Elementary School is putting up a rear example not only in this upazila but in this district by observing the day,” Mr. Prafulla proclaimed.

“My school always does exceptional thing. And I will be happy that my children will learn today how to wash their hands correctly with practical example. Beside their education this kind of function will instigate them to go ahead,” said Mr. Kutubuddin Ahmed.

Mrs. Aruna Roy, the honourable assistant health inspector of Phultala Upazila Health Complex showed the children of the school how to wash their hands properly using liquid handwash or soap. Some students tried to wash their hands by this way. At the end of the function, all the students were presented with a soap, a tooth brush and a toothpaste.
