Parveen Akter (26), a mother of two children was found dead at Kalmakanda Upazila in Netrokona on Friday (26 April). The dead body had a lot of wounds and injured marks all over her body found in her house. It is assumed that it can be a murder.
Md Mazharul Karim, officer-in-charge (OC) of Kalmakanda Police Station informed that Parveen was found dead in her house this morning by neighbours. There were injury marks all-over the body. So, they sent the body to Netrakona General Hospital morgue for autopsy.
The younger brother of the victim, Tariqul Islam informed that Parveen’s husband and his family used to torture her for dowry since marriage around 10 years ago. He said to the Police, “They strangulated her to death for dowry”. So he filled a case for this incident on Kalmakanda Police Station accusing Shafiqul and his parents Torab Ali and Sakhina Akter. The Police force has arrested Shafiqul Islam and Torab Ali. But Sakhina Akhter had managed to hide herself.
