In Sirajdikhan Upazila of Munshiganj, a woman was beaten to death by her own husband. The deceased was Shahinur Begum (55), wife of Md Mominul of the area.
Sultan Mia, brother of the deceased informed that Mominul used to torture Shahinur regularly since their marriage 38 years ago. Last night, he beat her up brutally and chopped off her tongue. He fled and left her to die.
The officer-in-charge of Shekharnagar Police Investigation Center under Sirajdikhan Police Station, Md Saiful Islam has confirmed the death. He also informed that the body has been kept at Dhaka Medical College morgue for autopsy and they are trying the most to arrest Md Mominul, the accused.
