President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have visited Obaidul Quader at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University on Sunday (March 3, 2019).

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina reached the BSMMU around 3:30 pm and passed some time besides Quader. Later on, President Abdul Hamid also visited Quader at the hospital around 4:30 pm. Before them, Parliament’s Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury visited Quader at the hospital.

In accordance with Abu Naser’s (senior public relations officer of Roads and Highways Division) words, the Transport and Bridges Minister, Quader complained of breathing problem after Fajr prayers and then was taken to the BSMMU. After his admission, he needed to be shifted to the Coronary Care Unit (CCU) of the hospital. There, he was diagnosed with three blockages in the coronary artery. About this, Prof Syed Ali Ahsan, chairman of the cardiology department of BSMMU said, “Quader is not out of danger yet. So, it is not possible to shift him right now”.

After this news spread out, senior leaders of the ruling Awami League, its alliance leaders, and many other cabinet colleagues started visiting him. Also, lots of workers and supporters of the party gathered at the BSMMU to know the update health condition of this popular Awami League leader.
