Worldwide RAM price is on the higher side. This kind of increase and for a long time period occurred in the generation of DDR4 lifetime. The fabrication of DDR5 system memory is available and we assume it to be released in the late of 2020 or in the first part of 2021.
The price hike of the memory module for DRAM is depended on many factors as all our modern devices use DRAM. The increase in smartphone use and overflow of smart devices are some of the main reasons for the increased price and limited availability. But the market is gradually moving towards stability, though the lifespan of DDR4 is near the end. In Bangladesh perspective, the price of a single DDR4 8gb module of a reputed brand is around 5000-6000tk and the lower line would start from 4500tk, whereas, in the middle of 2018 the price of a good quality 8gb DDR4 2400mhz ram was around 7000-8000tk, even the low ranked rams were on sale at 6500+ BDT.
So is it a good time for PC building or updating your old system? Yes, at least from our point of view. Sources claim big manufacturers such as Samsung, SK Hynix, Micron and others are on new fab for increasing their production. But it’s better to buy things before the prices change again.
