The film, A Star Is Born (2018) is an American musical romantic drama produced and directed by Bradley Cooper. Eric Roth, Cooper and Will Fetters wrote the story. The film is remake of the 1937 film of the same name and it stars Bradley Cooper, Lady Gaga, Andrew Dice Clay, Dave Chappelle, and Sam Elliott.
The story of BlacKkKlansman (2018) was inspired by the 2014 memoir Black Klansman by Ron Stallworth. The film is an American biographical crime comedy-drama directed by Spike Lee who directed notable films like Malcom X (1992), 25th Hour (2002). Charlie Wachtel, David Rabinowitz, Kevin Willmott, and Lee wrote the story. The film stars John David Washington as Stallworth, along with Adam Driver, Laura Harrier, and Topher Grace.
The American superhero film Black Panther (2018) has also been nominated for the Best Motion Picture. The film is based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. Marvel Studios produced the film and Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures distributed it. The film is directed by Ryan Coogler stars Chadwick Boseman, alongside Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira, Martin Freeman, Daniel Kaluuya, Letitia Wright, Winston Duke, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, and Andy Serkis.
The British-American joint venture Bohemian Rhapsody (2018) is a biographical film representing the British rock band Queen and its vocalist singer Freddie Mercury’s life. 20th Century Fox, New Regency, GK Films, and Queen Films produced it. Bohemian Rhapsody is directed by Bryan Singer and written by Anthony McCarten. It stars Rami Malek as Mercury, with Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joe Mazzello, Aidan Gillen, Tom Hollander, Allen Leech, and Mike Myers.
Green Book (2018) directed by Peter Farrelley is an American comedy-drama film. Farrelly, Brian Currie and Nick Vallelonga wrote the story. The film stars Mahershala Ali and Viggo Mortensen.
Roma (2018) is a semi-autobiographical drama film written and directed by Alfonso Cuarón. It stars Yalitza Aparicio and Marina de Tavira.
The Favourite (2018) is a comedy-drama film directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and written by Deborah Davis and Tony McNamara. stars Olivia Colman, Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, Nicholas Hoult, Joe Alwyn, James Smith and Mark Gatiss.
Vice (2018) an American biographical comedy-drama film. Adam McKay wrote and directed it. The film stars Christian Bale as former US Vice President Dick Cheney, with Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Sam Rockwell, Tyler Perry, Alison Pill, Jesse Plemons, and Justin Kirk.
