Sanjay Leela Bansali’s Padmavaat was one of the biggest bollywood blockbusters in 2018. Every actor in the film portrayed their characters elegantly. Ranveer snatched the Best Actor award at the Star Screen Awards 2018 for playing the historical character of emperor Alauddin Khilji. Shahid Kapoor also had earned a lot of praises and positive criticism for his portrayal of Maharawal Ratan Singh. And Deepika! She being Queen Padmavati was magnificent in the film. Padmavaat grossed US$ 81 million worldwide. After everything and after its huge success, the sources are telling that the director Bhansali had first offered both Shahid Kapoor’s Maharawal Ratan Singh and then Ranveer Singh’s Alauddin Khilji in Padmaavat to King Khan SRK.
After the role of Ratan Singh was offered to Shah Rukh Khan, he refused to play the character as he believed that the focus of the story is on Rani Padmavati and Alauddin Khilji. Bhansali then offered Shah Rukh the role of Khilji. Ranveer was better, but Shah Rukh would have been great if he had played the role because in the past we found him majestic playing the negative roles as in Darr, Baazigar, and so on. Unfortunately, SRK refused to play Khilji because he faced adverse reactions from fans and critics over his film Raees.
