The High Commission of India organized a flagging off ceremony of the 100 member Bangladesh Youth Delegation to India at Dhaka on March 22, 2018. The delegation will embark on an 8 day visit to different cities in India such as New Delhi, Agra and Mumbai, where they will see prominent cultural and historical sites, business centres, apart from holding interactions with the youth of India in educational, business, IT and technological institutions.

H.E. Mr. Harsh Vardhan Shringla, High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh; Chief Guest H.E. Tarana Halim, Hon’ble minister of State, Ministry of Information, Government of Bangladesh, addressed the members of the delegation. Well known model and actress Ms. Nusrat Faria, popular actor Mr. Arefin Shuvo, Mr. Aman Reza and acclaimed contemporary musician Mr. Habib Wahid, were the special invitees for the flagging off event. This year marks the sixth year of the Bangladesh Youth Delegations’ visit to India. The first such Bangladesh Youth Delegation had visited India in 2012, and this programme has been continuing every year since then. Members of the 2018 delegation include 52 young Bangladeshi women and 48 young Bangladeshi men, drawn from different regions of the country, diverse backgrounds and educational institutions of Bangladesh. They comprise of doctors, artists, sportspersons, journalists, engineers, models, radio jockeys, humanities and science students, social workers, among others.
